Katie Montanelli is Athabascan and she grew up in King Salmon, Alaska, the Salmon capitol of world. The small fishing town jump-started her love for the outdoors as Katie’s best memories are camping, fishing, hiking, snow-machining and four-wheeling.
Katie has worked at Southcentral Foundation (SCF) since 2012 and is committed to serving the Alaska Native people. She is a program coordinator and responsible for the coordination and management of a health and wellness portal called My AK Wellness. Katie was instrumental in the development, training, administration and launch of the SCF health and wellness portal. The portal was created to help customer-owners and employees achieve their wellness goals. Katie continually keeps the portal updated with new health related content. SCF recognized Katie with a Living Our Values award for her hard work on My AK Wellness.
Katie is currently advancing her education to further develop her professional skill set. Katie currently serves on the PRSA Alaska Chapter’s diversity committee. She says, “I am thankful for PRSA because it has provided me with growth opportunities, given me tools to do my job and helped me cultivate confidence as a young professional.”
