She ser<a href=\"https:\/\/prsaalaska.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Screenshot-2023-08-31-at-2.58.32-PM.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-5657 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/prsaalaska.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Screenshot-2023-08-31-at-2.58.32-PM-239x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"239\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>ves as the Public Information Officer for the department and is responsible for planning and executing external communications plans, media relations, social media, presentations, speeches, photography\/videography, key messaging for department priorities, guiding division communication leads and coordinating with peers at other State of Alaska agencies and\u00a0partner organizations.<\/p>\n<p>Lorraine&#8217;s\u00a0hometown is Eagle River, Alaska. She\u00a0has a bachelor&#8217;s degree in Journalism and Public Communications\u00a0from the University of Alaska Anchorage.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>PRSA Volunteer Work<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nLorraine joined the Aurora Awards and Gala organizing committee in 2022 and is in the thick of planning for the celebration in 2023. &#8220;I hope PRSA members, PR students and other communications professionals\u00a0will join us to celebrate Glaciers, Glitz and Glamour this year on September 20,&#8221; said Lorraine.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>How does PRSA membership assist you?<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n&#8220;PRSA is a wonderful organization for networking, peer mentoring, getting feedback on communications strategies, and celebrating all things public relations. I enjoyed participating in the PRSA Puget Sound chapter when I lived in Seattle, but I&#8217;ve definitely been more engaged with the Alaska chapter through working on the annual Aurora Awards and Gala and attending digital learning sessions,&#8221; said Lorraine. &#8220;This kind of best practice sharing and recognizing the top communications work in the state inspires me to grow professionally.
