Join us for a discussion with Kenneth McCoy about the importance DEI in the workplace and things to consider when starting a DEI initiative.
McCoy serves as the North Division Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Officer for Providence. In this role he is responsible for working with DEI, operational and clinical leaders in Alaska and the Puget Sound to promote culturally competent patient-centered care as well as diversity, equity and inclusion across the Providence family of organizations.
Prior to joining Providence, Ken served more than 27 years with the Anchorage Police Department, retiring as chief of police in February 2022. During his time in law enforcement, he led efforts to promote trust, accountability and transparency in the department and fostered officer involvement with local organizations.
Ken is an active member of the community and serves on several local and national boards, including Standing Together Against Rape (STAR) and the United Way of Anchorage. He holds a bachelor’s degree in justice from the University of Alaska Anchorage and an executive certificate in leading diversity from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business. Ken is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
