In the fall of 2020, the Alaska Public Health Response Team was assembled to counter misinformation about COVID-19 circulating on social media sites in Alaska. The team is a collaboration between the University of Alaska Anchorage and the Alaska Public Health Association. UAA students monitor sites for misinformation and response team members who are health professionals, respond by providing factual information and promoting the use of credible sources. Learn how these efforts are educating Alaskans on the COVID-19 pandemic, gain insights into using social media to respond to misinformation, and hear some of the lessons learned by the team along the way.
