Program Coordinator 2 – Division of Public Health

This Program Coordinator 2 position will work within the Section of Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, Office of Substance Misuse and Addiction Prevention, and also be a member of our nationally recognized communication team. This position will use the evidence-based public health approach to coordinate, create and execute public health communication and social marketing programs – also called campaigns – related to substance misuse and addiction. The ideal candidate will have experience with the production, communication and distribution of information and ideas to inform and engage audiences through written, audio and visual media.

The position oversees and develops these communication campaigns and related materials that are tailored to a priority audience to change knowledge, attitudes and behaviors. These campaigns create and distribute a wide variety of materials, including print materials, websites, online and social media messages, and video and radio public service announcements. They involve working with many partners, including health care providers, other government and non-government health organizations, pharmacies and more.

This position will be responsible for the coordination, long-term development, strategic planning, and oversight of multiple campaigns designed to work in tandem with other public health strategies to change behaviors over time. This position will work with data analysts, epidemiologists and contracted researchers to inform and evaluate the campaigns.
