Meet Gabriella Vance, a journalism and public communications student at the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA). Her educational focus is on digital media.
Job Responsibilities: As student serious about her communications calling, Gabriella has embraced her responsibilities as executive editor for the weekly UAA campus newspaper, The Northern Light. In this roll she oversees newspaper operations, including editing and approving content, managing staff and hiring new employees.
Hometown: I’m an Air Force brat, so I don’t really have a home town.
Education: Pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism & Public Communication, with a focus on digital media.
How does membership in PRSSA assisted you?
PRSA / PRSSA have furthered my knowledge on journalism and helped me to understand some of the many different aspects of journalism. Journalism and communication is a large field that has many opportunities. Being a part of PRSSA has helped me to decide what kind of journalism I want to pursue.
