Congratulations Lisa Miller on earning the Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) designation. Lisa is an Alaska Chapter member and has been with the Red Cross of Alaska since 2015 where she currently serves as chief development officer and leads fundraising, events and donor relations efforts. Before that she led internal communication, crisis communication and media relations for the Red Cross of Alaska as chief communications officer. Prior to the Red Cross, Miller spent eight years at PR Newswire as an account manager.

The Accreditation program aims to improve the practice of public relations by assessing competence in 60 areas of knowledge, skills and abilities associated with the profession. The Examination is designed for public relations professionals with at least five to seven years of job experience and/or a bachelor’s degree in a communication field. Candidates who successfully complete the rigorous process, including presenting their portfolio to a Panel Presentation of three peers and sitting for a computer-based Examination, are granted the APR.
