The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) Office of Alumni Relations and the UAA Alumni Association have announced the winners of three 2018 Alumni of Distinction awards — two PRSA Alaska Chapter members are among the winners. Honors will be presented during the university’s Homecoming Breakfast Oct. 12.
Chapter Treasurer Jocelyn “Josie” Wilson receives the Alumni Humanitarian Award for her work in the nonprofit section, community work and leadership. Currently the director of strategic communications at HDR Inc., Wilson earned a Master’s of Business Administration degree from UAA.
Jennifer Thompson receives the Alumni of Achievement Award for her business acumen and multiple awards from civic, community and educational institutions. Currently the president and CEO of Thompson & Co. Public Relations, she is an alumni of UAA’s Journalism and Public Communications program.
