Alaska Communicators Exchange (CommEx) Postponed

Aug 3, 2021 | News

In light of the information we are learning about the highly contagious new Delta variant of coronavirus, the high-risk level of COVID-19 transmission in many communities across Alaska, the new wave of hospitalizations, and evolving CDC guidance, our chapter has made the difficult decision to postpone Commex 2021. Delaying our anticipated in-person event comes with great sadness, however the health and safety of our members and guest speakers must be our highest priority.

The amazing volunteer team coordinating the event will be setting a new date for Spring 2022, when it may be safer for us to come together in-person to share, network and learn.

We’ve got great momentum going for Commex and know when the conditions are safe, we will have a successful gathering of the best and brightest communicators in our state.

In the meantime, work on the event continues and you can help!

  1. We are still seeking speakers to present forward-thinking, business-focused content relevant to today’s public relations and communications professionals. Do you have an innovative and compelling presentation idea? Get your proposal in now!
  2. We are coordinating with current committed sponsors to move their donations to the new timeframe. If your organization would be interested in sponsoring, please contact Lisa Miller.
  3. Volunteers are still needed in many areas! If you’re interested in helping with registration, event planning or other areas, please contact Scott Moon.

Thank you for your understanding as we navigate these uncertain times of COVID. Please stay safe.
