The Vice President of Education Impact is responsible for all operations in United Way of Anchorage’s focus area of improving the well-being and academic outcomes of all children in the Municipality of Anchorage, Alaska. This involves catalyzing, creating, and ensuring effective implementation of strategic community plans to attain measurable improvement on key measurable benchmarks within the focus area, particularly levels of kindergarten readiness, academic proficiency, and high school graduation rates. The externally focused aspect of this work involves constant interaction and coordination with key public and private community leaders, community investors, and service providers. The internally focused aspect of this work involves forging strategic direction and policies of United Way of Anchorage to achieve this mission; the hiring, evaluation, and daily supervision of staff; oversight of programs, investments, fundraising, community engagement, marketing, communication, and budgets.
