The Vice President of Community Impact is responsible for all operations in United Way of Anchorage’s focus areas of:
- Improving the well-being and academic outcomes of all children
- Preventing and ending homelessness
- Lifting struggling people to financial self-sufficiency
This involves catalyzing, organizing, coordinating, and promoting effective systems of community planning, resource investment, and partner/community relations to ensure measurable improvement on key benchmarks and dynamic responses to changing community conditions in the Anchorage metropolitan area. The VP supports UWA’s commitment to excellent customer service by facilitating communication and relationship-building with community partners and diverse key stakeholders (local organizations, businesses, policy makers, and individuals). Essential to this work is developing and adopting community-wide goals and implementing a strategic and cohesive plan for impact to make progress on these goals, all based upon understanding of community needs, an awareness of community resources, a knowledge of local and national best practice strategies, leveraging and aligning UWA’s unique strength and abilities to support the strategies, engaging in relationships and partnerships, and measuring results. The VP, Community Impact, leads the organization as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
