Nominations Now Accepted for PRSA 2013 Delegate-at-Large Positions

Jul 24, 2012 | News

Applications are now being accepted for two PRSA 2013 Leadership Assembly delegate-at-large and two international delegate-at-large positions. At-large delegates represent members who are not in a Chapter area in the United States or reside outside the United States and Canada. The primary responsibility of these delegates is to represent at-large members at the annual meeting of the PRSA Leadership Assembly. The Assembly delegates-at-large and international delegates-at-large serve one-year renewable terms.

Requirements for the delegate-at-large positions require that the candidate hold an APR or serve or have served as a board member of a Chapter, District or Section. It is strongly recommended that the international-delegate-at-large candidate reside outside the United States or Canada or have experience conducting international public relations.

In addition to attending the Assembly, these delegates are responsible for:

  • Communicating with at-large members concerning PRSA events or products of particular interest to them, as well as any planned strategic initiatives affecting these members.
  • Conducting informal or formal surveys about needs and interests of members in specific areas as relevant per position and share results with the PRSA Board of Directors.
  • Participate in the Leadership Assembly delegate electronic forum throughout the year.

Candidate applications will be reviewed by the Delegate Selection Committee and approved by the PRSA board for a vote by the PRSA 2012 Leadership Assembly on Oct. 13, 2012 in San Francisco, Calif. Nominees are invited to attend the Assembly.
